EngadgetHD linked to our story about the release of new firmware for Samsung DLP televisions. It turns out that a lot of sets in the A650 series were experiencing some issues. Instead of doing a full out recall, they decided it would be easier to release a firmware update.
You can find the firmware update here: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/news/supportNewsAlerts.do?spp_news_seq=380
For those of you who are too anxious and don’t want to click on the link here’s what it says on the Samsung page:
A small number of Samsung A650 series LCD TVs turn off automatically. The following models are affected:
• 40A650
• 46A650
• 52A650
To perform the update you’ll need a USB flash drive, and a computer to download it onto.
