Samsung started moving away from DLP lamp based televisions where the owner could replace them back in 2006 when they released the HL-S5679W. In fact, when you read the manual, it specifically says that if there’s a problem with the LED, call a technician. This is a far cry from the days previous when lamps could be plopped in and out by the most precarious owner.
With it being over 2 years since this TV first hit the scene, we felt it necessary to share some sources of where you can find updated information on them from people that own them.
AVSForum.com has an interesting discussion comparing this model to the models that came out in 2007.
Ecoustics.com has their own thread with people that own this model.
HDTVSolutions.com has all (and we mean all) of the technical spec for the set if you were curious.
If you need any parts for your HLS5679W, PartStore appears to have what you need.
