With Thanksgiving a little more than two month away, it’s only fitting that we put our own predictions for this year’s Black Friday. Given the current state of the economy and what must be a glut of electronics in their factories, the payoff should be good for those willing to wait.
Our Predictions
- Blu Ray DVD player – $169.97. Don’t look for a big brand like Panasonic or Sony to be at these prices, but it should definitely be an RCA, Philips or Magnavox. Best Buy already have a BR-DVD player for $229, so they should be able to get their Insignia player down to $169.96 without a problem and might just throw in some disks for free after mail in rebate (of course).
- 32″ LCD player – $399.96. With budget brand televisions already down to $499 in most of the big box retailers this seems really doable. With digital signals being standard in February, a lot of people should be looking to abandon their old sets and walk into the Digital Age.
- 50″ DLP LCD HDTV – $799. You’re able to snag a 50-inch television for around $1,000. With the 61A750 floating around the web and available for $1,299 this should help clear a lot of older inventory and introduce people to having to buy bulbs every couple of years.
