Thin is definitely in this year at CEDIA.  Hitachi, not wanting to be left out of the party unveiled their new 50″ plasma that is a scant 1.5″ thick.

These all fall under their new UltraThin line of televisions.  The idea is for the super-rich who want a TV in every room of the house to be able to do so with minimal obstruction.
