There was a time, not too long ago when 42″ televisions were hard to come by. This was when Gateway was making televisions and had retail stores. Many years have passed by and with the evolution of consumer electronics 46″ televisions have replaced 42″ televisions as the most sought after model.
This is seen even by the traffic from our own site. When we posted a story about the Samsung 46A500, 10 – 20% of our traffic have come from this story. Even with a pricetag approaching $1,000 there’s lots of online interest.
Meanwhile the premium on 42″ televisions has disappeared to the point where you can purchase one for $600.
Hopefully it won’t take much longer for 50 & 52 inch televisions take the place of 46 inch televisions giving us another reason to head to the store and do some window shopping.
