Today marks the end of an error, as Circuit City announces that it was unable to sell itself and will instead liquidate it’s assets.

This gives some an opportunity to get a great deal, but with the company needing every dollar possible in order to pay the people it owes don’t expect too much.  It’s surprising HHGregg, BrandsMart or TigerDirect decided not to pick up the retailer from the “bargain bin.”  Then again the CC brand doesn’t exactly inspire people to want to buy.

Best Buy is loving the news with a page dedicated to former Circuit City customers.  If you’ve purchased your products from Circuit City the manufacturer will still stand behind their product so you should be okay and third party companies back their extended warranty.  Our heart goes out to the 35,000+ people who will be out of a job in a few weeks.
