Lots of televisions are making the claim that they meet or exceed the Energy Star 3.0 requirement for televisions which caused us to dig deep and find out exactly what that is.
The first criteria is to have a product which can be called a television. Next, it has to meet energy efficient criteria while being turned on and in standby mode. Lastly the manufacturer has to verify that their product was tested under the right methodologies. All in all, it looks like consumers will get more transparency which is a great thing.
