Samsung will no longer me be making DLP television. No LED DLP TVs were announced by Samsung at this years CES. Moving forward you can expect new LCD televisions from the manufacturer but not new DLP sets.
Many are going to miss them, however when you figure the slim margins and the lawsuits, being a DLP TV manufacturer isn’t a sustainable business.
It’ll be a shame to see them go, but rest assured that if you already own one that you’ll have nothing to worry about as many companies will make replacement lamps and replacement parts should be available for decades to come.
