Sharp and JVC realize that Blu Ray is the next generation of disc technology and that at some point traditional DVD won’t exist anymore.  To make it easier for people to get on the Blu-ray bandwagon they are rolling out televisions which include the new technology.

This is a great way to add features instead of just making the television thinner and getting people to pay more for it.
