A-1606-008-A is the part number for the optical block assembly (light engine) for the Sony KF50WE610. Many people who have needed to replace this part did so due to the presence of blue or green blobs on the screen of the WEGA televisions.
Sony extended the warranty on these parts and even allowed people to buy a replacement optical block, have it installed and allow you to send the bill to them so they could take care of it for you.
