The Panasonic TC-P42S1 is now available for pre-order from Amazon for $1,099. The TC-P42S1 uses a screen known as Neo PDP which uses less energy. The argument from people who don’t like Plasma televisions has been that they use significantly more power than a comparable LCD HDTV. This innovation from Panasonic looks to settle the score and continue giving people a reason to debate if LCD or Plasma is the best HDTV technology.
As far as specs go, this comes directly from Panasonic’s site:
- Full-Time 1080 TV Lines Moving Picture Resolution
- Contrast Ratio: 40,000:1 Native; Infinite Black Panel
- Brighter Panel
CNet took a look at it and gave it decent marks overall, but took points away since it doesn’t offer as many options as other of their higher end Plasma TVs.
The remote control for the TC-P42S1 is N2QAYB000322.
