Buckingham Research has found that while 99% of people they surveyed know what HDTV, only 11% of them are actually looking to purchase HDTV service.  There are probably a few reasons which they don’t discuss but are definitely looking us in the face:

- The economy sucks and paying more for TV isn’t a good idea.
-Even if they own an HDTV, they can still get regular channels.
-More and more people are watching TV online.
-With antennas, you can get HDTV shows over the air.
