Insignia LCD HDTV Gets Reviewed, Leaves Room For Jello

Access more than 7.4 million parts at Parts Direct

Washington Post (via PC World) took a look at the 52 inch Insignia LCD HDTV, NS-LCD52HD-09.

They didn’t have many nice things to say about the $1,400 television, and here is a snippet:

Setup is more difficult than it should be. The first time you turn this TV on, you won’t see a first-time setup menu. Instead you have to figure out the setup yourself–and since it never asks you where you’ll be using the TV, you’re likely to leave it configured to look good in a store, not in your living room. The main menu is tiny, hard to read, and annoyingly situated right in the middle of the screen. It offers no on-screen explanations for its various options.

It doesn’t really get any better past that, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  Best Buy no longer sells that television, but does sell a 47″ version which is currently receiving rave reviews on BestBuy.com.  Even better is that it only sells for $999.  If you can pretend that the extra five inches was never there you can snag a great television for under $1,000.
