It’s alive….!
Circuitcity.com is now up and running under it’s new owner Systemax (owners of Tigerdirect, and CompUSA). The big question is if it being a web-only operation will allow it to overcome some of the issue it’s store had with horrible pricing and poor customer service to match.
At first glance, the pricing appears to be very competitive to Newegg.com. The homepage looks very glossy, however once you go deeper down the purchase process the site looks more like a skin of TigerDirect, and CompUSA.
The real test is customer service. Since the products will be shipping from the same warehouse as Systemax’s other companies it’s a lot harder for people to have a bad online experience. The hard part to overcome are all the people who have a bad taste in their mouth about Circuit City and would likely not shop there again no matter who owns it.
If things don’t work out, I’m sure you’ll see stories popping up on Consumerist.com.
