This is off-topic, but I’ve been waiting to get my hands of a Palm Pre for …well, ever since it was first introduced. Unlike all the people who switch to AT&T, I have no intentions of leaving Sprint. I’ve had their service for more than 10 years and that’s not a relationship you just end.
It also doesn’t hurt that I have a 15% discount on my plan which make it cost almost nothing for all the minutes and perks I have.
At any rate, the Pre is coming. Not only is it coming but there are facts related to it which are now available which I’ll reveal below:
- The Pre is coming out the weekend of June 7th. People want to argue about if it’s the 5th, or 7th but that’s when it will be coming out. It’s already mid-May and no detail have come out except that there will be a training on the 5th. Just accept that’s when it’s coming out.
- The SKU is PALM100HK, it may also appear as PALM100HKIT.
- The box will contain a carry pouch, stereo headset, phone, manual, USB cable, battery, and travel charger.
- The Pre will be joined by another WebOS device.
- The Pre will also be on AT&T, and Verizon. Palm is trying to sell phones and just like the Centro, expect the Pre to get cozy with whomever wants to carry it.
- The Pre will help Sprint similar to the iPhone and get people to come back and get others to active on higher plans. Everyone loved the $30 SERO plans except it was slowly bankrupting Sprint.
- The marketplace for WebOS apps will take time to ramp up since developers aren’t going to start coding until they see that they won’t be building apps for 20 people. This is why no one is running out to build Samsung Instinct apps.
If you’ve been waiting like me, these truths may not make life easier but the great thing about the truth is that it’s true.
[Please note - I don't have any "ninjas" or secret mole. I've been following the coverage and wanted to put it all in one place instead of reading it on 20 different websites.]
