Even though Vizio has been on a tear with an increase in LCD shipments, the same can’t be said of plasma panels. Part of the issue is that so many manufacturers have simply just stopped making plasma HDTVs.

Overall shipments are down 28%, however there are some bright spots. More of the plasma televisions which are selling are 720p, such as the Samsung PN42B450. The other bright spot is that with news this bad, things can only get better.
