Best Buy is channeling Lionel Richie and has decided to test having stores which stay open 24 hours a day. In a move which is likely motivated by a desire to increase holiday sales, the electronics store will be testing the concept in New York City.
The concept will lunch in a former Circuit City store in the Union Square section on New York City. This makes it prime territory for NYU students and thousands of people who pass through that section on the Big Apple every day.
All of this will start on November 13th. If it works, expect similar moves to take place in other cities as Best Buy finds new ways to increase sales.
