Samsung L3 vs. L6 DLP TV Chassis

Being able to identify the chassis of your Samsung DLP HDTV will help you make sure you get the correct color wheel for your television. The biggest question comes when you need to decide if you have an L3 or L6 chassis. Below are ways for you to be able to tell which is which and the correct corresponding part.
In order to determine the chassis number you need to look on the right side of the set (facing the front of the set) for a small label that says Model Code, Serial Number, and Version.

If the if the version number is blank or PW01 you have the L3 chassis. This means that the right color wheel is part number: BP96-00674A.

If it says PU02 then you have the L6 chassis and the part number of the color wheel is BP96-01103A.  Also the L3 chassis has the ballast on a slight angle and the L620 has the ballast straight.
