Last year, Sears sold a Samsung LN40A500 1080p television for $799. This HDTV had 2 HDMI inputs, and a 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
In 2009, things have changed drastically. This year Sears will be selling the 2009 version of this television which sports several improvements. It will feature a 70,000:1 contrast ratio, 4 HDMI inputs and a USB 2.0 port.
Another big difference between the 2008 and the 2009 model comes down to price. Now that the 2009 Sears Black Friday ad is available it looks like the LN40B500 will be available for only $599.
This is a savings of $200 over the course of 12 months.
