My wife was bugging me (in her own special and beautiful way) that the sound in our Sony BRAVIA KDL-42V4100 television was making it hard for her to watch TV. The problem we were having is that the sound would keep dropping out. I tried my best to ignore it but it was a huge pain in the butt.
I looked on the back of the television and saw that it was manufactured in January 2009. From there I went and searched to see if there was a firmware update, and sure enough there was. Even better, it was put out to help fix issues with audio so I knew this would do exactly what would need it to.
Downloaded the updated firmware was a breeze. I copied the files onto a USB drive I had laying around and unzipped the files as the instructions described. Next I plugged the drive in the back of the television and went into the menu to update the firmware.
10 minutes later my television restarted and it’s better than ever. If you are having issues with your HDTV, be sure to check and see if there is updated firmware available for it. Updating it may not only fix the issues you have, but may also improve your television’s performance and picture quality.
