This is probably going to be one of the best HDTV deals in 2010 (even though the year just started). There have been a lot of HDTV deals in the past, but to get a 1080p HDTV AND a DVD player together is something special.
Geeks.com is selling the Westinghouse VK-40F580D 1080p LCD HDTV with DVD player for only $449.
Below are the specs for this HDTV:
- 40-inch diagonal viewable screen size
- Front slot-loading DVD player
- 16:9 aspect ratio
- 1920 x 1080 native/optimum resolution
- ATSC/ClearQAM/NTSC TV tuners
- 16.7 million color capability
- 1800:1 contrast ratio
- 8 ms response time
- 176° horizontal and vertical viewing angle
- Two (2) Built-in 10-watt front firing speakers
- Supports 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p TV formats
Here is what CNet had to say about it:
The good: Somewhat inexpensive; built-in DVD player integrated nicely; display produces a relatively deep shade of black; accurate primary colors and color temperature; adequate picture controls.
The bad: Limited connectivity with just two HDMI and one component video input; some screen uniformity issues; darker areas tend toward reddish and brighter areas toward blue even after calibration; subpar remote control.
The bottom line: Perfectly acceptable image quality and a well-integrated DVD player make the Westinghouse VK-40F580D a solid choice for people going the combo route.
