Sony isn’t planning on sitting on the sidelines while every other company releases their own take on LED HDTVs and the KDL-60NX800 BRAVIA HDTV is one of their entries into the space. At 60″ in size, it provides another entry into the high end range of televisions. The KDL-60NX800 provides cutting edge features such as 240Hz refresh rate, 1080p resolution, built-in WiFi, access to YouTube/Netflix, USB input and a built in light sensor which will change the brightness of the screen based on the ambient light in the room.
Sony has given the 60NX800 a MSRP of $3499, but some online stores are already offering this television for hundreds less.
B&H is selling the KDL60NX800 for $3,149.
OnSale.com is selling the KDL60NX800 for only $2,649.
By being priced so aggressively Sony has undercut similarly sized LED HDTVs from Samsung, Sharp, and Vizio. For once Sony no longer charges a premium for their product and instead is looking to increase market share with low prices and high end features.
