If you were one of the people who bought a television in 2010, you have a lot of company.
According to a DisplaySearch report, overall television sales are on pace to grow sharply in 2010 specifically LCD television. Manufacturers have been doing a great job of pushing LED backlit LCD televisions on customers as prices on them have gone down.
In 2009, shipments only increased 2 percent while 2010 shipments should increase 29 percent.
This information points to a lot of converging factors. First of all, the economy is improving in many areas around the world which is helping to improve sales. Secondly, prices are dropping. LED HDTV prices are predicted to decrease 40% in 2010 and LCD prices have also fallen sharply as a result of manufacturers having simply too many technologies to push. With 120Hz, 240Hz, LED, and 3D television available in different markets there is more pressure to convince people to walk out of stores with something and the low prices are doing a lot of work to help with sales.
