Oh Samsung, you just enjoy being the bad-boy-rebel-without-a-cause of the HDTV space don’t you?  When you aren’t paying fines for fixing prices of LCD screens or memory you find other ways to make people disappointed in you and your products.  It almost makes me wonder how you guys manage to sell so much product.

Samsung 56A650 LCD DLP HDTV

Category : DLP TV Lamps, HDTV News, Samsung DLP, TV Lamps, TV Reviews

You can purchase the television from Amazon.com which now also has a great price.  There’s no telling how long it will last, but you can check it out here.  Right now Amazon is selling the 56A650 for $1,059.02 with FREE SHIPPING.

The replacement DLP lamp is part number BP96-01653A.  You can buy the whole lamp with the housing for $189.95.  For those looking for the manual, you can find that on Samsung’s website.  The part number to the remote control is BN59-00673A which is currently available for $29.99.

Also don’t forget to pickup some HDMI cables from our newly created 56A650 store.

The HL56A650 was currently available for under $900 which put the pricing below the 46A500 which was and is still widely talked about since Black Friday.  You’re reading right – you were able to pay less money and get more television.

The deal wasn’t from some fly-by-night seller where you have to worry about quality or customer service.  The best deal was through SecondAct which usually sold the television for $1,099 and had a coupon to take $200 off through 12/14.  To get the savings, you just had to go to SecondAct’s product page for the 56A650 and when it asks you for your promotion code or coupon enter in DLP200 and you’re done.

Samsung DLP HDTV Deal

Category : Black Friday, DLP TV Lamps, HDTV News, Samsung DLP, TV Lamps

Black Friday is less than a week today and the deals have been underwhelming.  If you’re looking for a television larger than 42 inches you were probably disappointed by this year’s deals.  We were able to find a deal on a 50″ Samsung DLP HDTV.
Samsung HLT5075S 50 inch 720p DLP HDTV Refurbished

At $699, this is one of the best deals you’ll be able to find on a big screen HDTV without it needing to be a holiday.  Samsung is one of the best manufacturers out there and one of the few DLP manufacturers still making televisions.

The Samsung HLT5075S 50 inch DLP HDTV is a great deal on a 720p television.  If you’re worried you can read about the HLT-5075S at CNet where they did a review.

Here a sample of what CNet had to say:

Pros: With HDTV compatibility, this product can display images that are sharper and more realistic than standard definition television when hooked up to a high definition signal.

Cons: None noted, given available product data.

Suitability: Built for those who want an affordable large screen TV.In general, a wide aspect display such as this one is well suited for DVD movies recorded in the popular 16:9 format, as well as high definition programming.

The replacement lamp for this television is BP96-01653A.

Issue With Samsung DLP Freezing

Category : Samsung DLP

Over at Hometheatershack, someone is having a problem the picture on their Samsung DLP television freezing.  The general consensus is that the DMD board would need to be replaced.

It’s important to remember that when you have a problem with your television, no matter how old that you call the manufacturer first.  With all of the class action lawsuits and new firmware being provided for DLP television, they might have an answer for you without you needing to get frantic or open up your television and do something crazy.  Besides, they might just hear your story and decide to fix your television for you free of charge.  You’ll never know until you call.

Samsung HLP5063W Problem & Solution

Category : Samsung DLP

A user at eCoustics.com was having a problem with their Samsung HLP5063W.  It won’t turn on anymore.  What he saw happening was that when the TV was being turned on the lamp light would blink for 30-40 seconds.  Then it would turn off and starts over.  It would do this for three times then stop and show 3 blinking lights.

After replacing the bulb and the ballast with no change, he was concerned it might be the fan, color wheel motor, or the DMD board.  After ensuring that it was clean on the inside and giving it some time, he discovered that the light engine needed to be replaced.

If you experience the same issue with your HLP-5063W, you may want to just replace the light engine first before trying other alternatives.

Oh and if you need any spare parts, he’s offering them up.
